NX Takes a long time to exit...

Hello -

I am at a company that has multiple workstations running NX6. Two people are running CAM and all the others only work in CAD.

The two people that use the CAM package are complaining that NX6 will take 5 - 10 minutes to close down (regardless of a part being open). If you start a session (without opening any parts) and then go to exit, it takes a long time. I tried resetting the UGII_env.dat file to the default, and that had no impact on the duration.

Is there a reason for this? It does not take any longer for the software to load up for the CAM guys than any of the other machines.

The computers are newer and not obsolete equipment. Any ideas guys?

Thanks in advance

Check the size of the file dialogmemory.dlx
It will either be in UGII_USER_PROFILE_DIR or TEMP folder
Most people like to keep it under 1MB

Thanks a lot. That was the problem. They both had files >90MB.

Do you know if there is a way to make NX limit the size?

If you start NX from a batch file, delete the file before starting NX.

@bigguy136, you can't make it smaller, deleting the file is the only way.
@sumBuddy, there's no way to limit the file size, I think the fix for the problem is in NX7 & above. I use a startup script that deletes the file.
