NX Viewer 1

Is anybody working with the "NX Viewer" tool in NX v4 or v5?

I have been reading about it, but have only found information on the UGS site. Though I value this information greatly, I would like to hear from the user community on the "Good, Bad & Ugly" of this tool.

I *should* be able to give you some feedback in a few days, we're working on getting a coupe seats of NX Viewer setup.

I don't know about earlier versions, but NX5 came with the viewer, but either there is an issue with my licensing or you need to purchase a license for it to run. I get a license error message when trying to run the viewer.

I think about something that you could give to a non UG user to view models and drawings. Most 3d CAD programs have some kind of free model/drawing viewer.

Tim: NX Viewer is an additional license.

I'm not sure about NX5, but in NX3 or 4, when the Viewer first came out, you could only view with it. No plotting, or printing, which would be nice features to have for the non-NX user(s). I was looking into it for the purchasing dept, so they could make prints to order parts, without having to interrupt the designers.

No printing/plotting...and it costs extra....that blows.
