Hi,
Briefly, what NX X brings in addition on NX?............

Thanks,

I've not used NX X, but my understanding is that it is NX in the cloud. I believe that the license server and some (most?) of the NX install is managed by Siemens.

So, I wonder..... how will that work with customisation & roles etc?

I am wondering the exact same thing... Especially when we have a heavily customized environment. I guess we'll see. Most likely I'll have to find out when we purchase our next seat...

I haven't heard much about NX X either, but when I do, I will post what I find out. I have been wondering about NX X myself, being especially curious about Siemen's roadmap for ITAR compliance. I don't believe X is compliant at this time, but don't quote me on it. My current company does not require ITAR and CMMC compliance as yet, but we're gradually moving in towards it; a lot of companies will need it eventually.

There is a session at Realize Live this year. We will be sending two people this year, for the first time in 15 years. Any ways please see the Below Link, maybe something you could be interested in attending.

Thanks

NX X Essentials is Siemens' cloud-based CAD solution, similar to Onshape by PTC. It provides flexible cloud access, while NX X Standard, Premium, and Advanced are traditional, locally installed versions of NX, all using a named user cloud license instead of a floating license.

With NX X you get a simplified version of Teamcenter X to store data in the cloud or locally, depending on your preference. NX X Standard, Premium, and Advanced can be used with some of the features of NX custom.

UGperson,

Thanks a lot for your details.

Our VAR gave us the impression that Teamcenter X data is exclusively stored in the cloud. If there's a possibility of local data storage on our server, that would be a major factor for our decision.
