NX11 - Family Part Question

Im feeling like this is a super long shot. I am just hoping there might be some crazy feature that I dont know about to make this possible....


When using a family part and you have the different options to choose from in order to filter to the part you need. Is it possible to use images in any way rather than just words?

Our problem is we have a bunch of brackets for switches and sensors. They could have two slots or holes. The slots can be in different directions. The brackets could be bent 45° or 90°. The brackets can be several lengths. The lengths of each side of the bend can be different lengths. There can be different shapes to the brackets.

Some of the features are easy to filter by words, but some of them are hard to describe so anyone would understand. I was thinking that if we could click on a filter and see small images to show what they look like, it would make it much easier for the designers to filter through them and find what they are looking for. Especially when it comes to the different shapes.

I have considered putting the brackets in the re-use library and that is likely what I will end up doing. I just want to check into this first.

Long shot for sure. If you just generate the part family parts you can have a preview of each at least. If the naming conventions is some common prefix with a suffix for example, the Engineer could then scroll through them and view the previews instead of adding component from the part family master and having to filter all of the options by words. But yes the re-use library would work as well.
