We have notes in our Title Block that are associated with some File Attributes.

Unfortunately some of the companies we now do work for have extremely long naming conventions that cause these notes to be too long for their space in the Title Block.

I have been trying to record a journal that will open each sheet, select whatever notes are in a particular location of the title block and change their aspect ratio. That way when someone is done detailing the detail or layout, if the names are too long in the title block, they can just click a button and it will fix them on all sheets.

I cant get it to select the notes on the sheets in a different file. We have different title blocks for whether it is a Sheet 1 of a Detail, an extra sheet on a detail, a sheet with a hole chart, a layout sheet 1 etc....

On top of that problem, the recording of the journal will name one of the notes "HANDLE R-58594", but on another file it seems to call the same note on the same kind of sheet "ENTITY 25 33 1"

To make things slightly more difficult, on the sheet1 there are usually two notes that need to change. One of them to .7 aspect ratio and the other to .4

IS there another way around this I am not thinking of? Is it possible to make a "smart" aspect ratio note that will adjust automatically according to the space given? lol

If you use a tabular note, there are options to autosize the text and/or cell to fit. It might be more work than it is worth to change out your existing drawings, but you might consider using them the next time you update your template file.

Thanks cowski

That is exactly what I am looking to do.

See? I thought that a smart note would have been asking way too much to hope for, but thats why I bring things like that up anyway. You just never know. lol

This will make things much easier.
