NX11 - Saved Load Options path?

When people save their Assembly Load Options to make them permanent, I am getting a file in a folder that people should not save to. My guess is there must be a place in Customer Defaults where you can set the default path for saving Assembly Load Options to peoples C:drive or something.

Can someone tell me where that default setting is located please?

I would recommend utilizing a shared network drive location so everyone is pulling in the same load options and the same search sequence. NX searching utilizes internal folder IDs when you use the '…' to search sub-folders. These internal IDs are based on creation date, not the actual name, so be careful.
(That was our experience at a prior company, but we quit using Unigraphics at V18, so this may have changed since 2005.)

Yes make a search in your help log file
for "load option"

It's an environment variable that you can set. ( Preferrably as a common setting on a server)
UGII_LOAD_OPTIONS ( = \\server\dir\filename-such-as-company-name-load_options.def
Which you can set such that all users reads a common "load_options.def"
IF necessary you can then set this variable on your computer to override the common load_options file.

If you set native search directories and set : (Examples )
k:\nx_parts
NX will ONLY find files in this directory but NOT in any sub directory.
k:\nx_parts...
( note 3 dots) NX will find files in this directory AND all sub directories

( In the Unix world 1 dot means "this directory", 2 dots means "one level up" and the Unigraphics development invented the 3 dots meaning "everything below his directory".
- this was implemented back in time when Unigraphics was developed on Unix computers. )

Currently, we have our NX11 sessions loading from a particular drive.

When anyone saves the Assembly Load Options (Save As Default) So NX will load up that way for them every time, it saves it to the same folder. Everyone's default is reading this same file, so the next time we open NX, we dont get the settings we set our NX to, but to how the last person who saved their settings had them.

I would like to change the Default path to where NX saves this Load Options file to go to everyone's C:Temp or something of their own so nobody is affected by each other.

Here is the image of the folder I mentioned. As you can see, there is a "Load Options" file in this location. Everyone is sharing that same file.

I have looked through Customer Defaults and cannot find a setting where I can change this path. I tried the Log File and that didnt tell me where to go to change this path. I was looking at the Environment Variables and didnt see what I thought would be it.

I will take this ti I.T. but if possible I would like to give her direction to where this is changed.

In the NXcustom setup (started by Rob Cohon, currently developed by Gerrit Koelewijn), the location of the load settings file, can be put in the users profile area:

:: Use to set location of default Load Options in user folder
:: set UGII_LOAD_OPTIONS=%UGII_USER_PROFILE_DIR%\load_options.def

This is in the NX_common.bat file, and $UGII_USER_PROFILE_DIR can be set to various locations, but one example is:
set UGII_USER_PROFILE_DIR=%LOCALAPPDATA%\Siemens\%NXCUSTOM_NUMBER%

Once the Siemens PLM community boards are back up and running, you should be able to find the NXcustom setup for your version, in the customization area.
