NX12 Tool Bar Short-Cut Keys

Greetings:

I have recently began using NX12. When I add a button to my top border bar, it stays there until I shut down for the evening. When I start the next day, the buttons that I added are gone. How do I keep buttons that I add?

Menu -> preferences -> user interface -> layout -> save layout at exit
Make sure this option is turned on. Also, after customizing the UI, I'd suggest saving a role. This way you will be able to restore your layout should anything happen.

Did someone turn that option OFF for you ?
I have encountered one company that toggled that option off for all users( it's on by default) because the support guys did not think their users should customize the user interface.
When i asked why they could not motivate why they did that...

In addition to cowski's suggestion, I recommend turning it back to off after you have made your necessary customizations to prevent accidentally saving unintentional changes.

I went through Cowski's menu string and that check box was checked. The changes will still not save. I have to add each time. I wonder if this is where I need to add a role?

First I would check where the UGII_USER_PROFILE_DIR variable is pointing to.
Check if you have write access to that folder.

How do you exit NX?

Whenever I change my layout I use - File-> Exit rather than the X in the corner.
Just closing with the X in the upper right corner still cancels changes for me occasionally.
