All, we have just switched to NX5 and are having problems with our engage and retract commands. We first noticed that the angle, angle distance and tool axis commands were gone, that we used in NX3 and NX4. This was our first issue, how to make UG do what we had been doing for years, but the bigger issue we are having is, if we have to get into any of our legacy parts and repost out of NX5, those two commands default to a helical command. Is there anyway to fix this?

Thanks,
Chad

The Angle - Angle Distance is now the Linear option now with a Swing Angle (angle 1) and a Ramp Angle (angle 2)

The helical option is used when the tool moves to the engage and between cut levels. What were you using in NX3 & 4?

As far as the tool axis option you may need to update the dialogs. You can set this on the preferences - manufacturing and the customer Defaults.

John,
We were using the angle, angle distance and tool axis commands, and now if we repost out of NX5, it defaults to helical.

Thanks,
Chad

Not everything that is new is better.
We too have many problems with NCM to NX5 and Nx6.
Perhaps the remedy will come with NX7 or NX7.5 ... or NX8-9-10 ...
Unfortunately we ascertain that to the moment the CAM NX has too many problems.
We hope that this forum will serve to give a shock to friends of R & D.
Ciao.
