I am running NX5.0.2.2.
We do our drawings using master modeling.

I am having a problem with my threads showing up correctly in a drawing view. The tap drill shows up fine, but the threads do not. We us "ANSI simplified" to show our threads.

I have made sure that the thread curves are in the reference set, and they are in the proper layer, but they still do not show up in the view. They show up fine in the model, but without silhouette curves.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

OK, that indicates to me that perhaps your section is NOT passing exactly through the center of the hole, or the plane of the section is not aligned with the axis of the hole, which might be the result of the hole not being normal to the face of the model.

However, I think we're clutching at straws here and that if you're unable to reproduce to same behavior in other similar models, we may have to just write this off as being a unique, one-off condition that produced this result.

I agree, because I can't reproduce it.

Yes, it may be unique - but the "center of the hole" thing makes total sense. I am going to check that out.

I wonder what is the expected behavior for thread representations? In order to test I placed three old style threaded holes into a block by eye in a straightish but not quite straight line added it to a view an tinkered with the sectioning for a bit. What I found was that if the hole is close but not quite on center to the section then it may work but once it is away by a bit further then it does not show threaded representation just a cut through the hole taken off center. Since these holes are added to the planar face of a block there is no question of axial misalignment, and the sections are simply thrown off in isometric projection square to the top view so that the centers either fall in a line or they don't. I knew that threaded holes don't always display unless they're cut through the center, I'd like to know when it should or should not be expected to do so.

Best Regards

Hudson
