hopefully this is a simple question. I am not seeing how you put a view on the clip board or where the clipboard is. Can somebody tell my step by step how to do this. I hear this is a good way to get rid of a parent view if you just want the section view. Thank you.

If you're talking about the 'parent' view of a section view, I think there are only two options. The first is to select the parent view, press MB3, select 'Style' and in the General tab toggled ON 'Reference' and the view will no longer be seen as a full view, but it will still plot and export to PDF. So if you want it to be gone completely but with the Section view still valid, you will need to move the Parent view to another sheet. You can do this by going to...

Edit -> View -> Move/Copy View...

...and select the Parent view and then the 'To Another Drawing' option (you will need to have already created at least one additional sheet for your current drawing) and select the Sheet you wish to move this view to.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

What I do with the parent view, after the section view is created, is move it to outside the view bound (usually on top) where it cannot be seen.
Before I do that I change the name of the section to something like "Z-Z", so I can reuse "A-A" for a view that will be on the drawing.
There is a way to toggle off the section view label from the section view if that isn't required.
Pasting a section view on the drawing is not a good idea because it will not update.

You could also adjust the view bounds of the parent so no geometry is visible.

I should have said
". . . is move it to outside the DRAWING BOUNDRY . . ."
