Whereabouts is this topic located in the menu structure?
Excerpt from Help Files
"Once a part family has been created, the family table may be edited (using the NX Toolbox?Part Families?Edit function)" Our "gurus" have no idea what I am talking about.

Maybe the help should say "..from the NX Tools menu, select Part Families, and then click the Edit button under Part Family Spreadsheet section of the dialog" ?

It may be referring to a menu bar entry in the spreadsheet app (most likely Excel) that is added when you are dealing with part families.

The help referred to Teamcenter Integration for NX, Edit a Part Family.
"Once a part family has been created, the family table may be edited (using the NX Toolbox?Part Families?Edit function) to change either the set of family members, or the definitions of one or more members of the family.

In addition to editing the family table, the geometry of the template part for the family can be edited. If you edit the template part, all the members of the part family can be updated using PartFamily?Update in NX/Spreadsheet.

This causes any family members which already exist in Teamcenter and are out-of-date with the template to be updated. The update consists of overwriting the existing parts in the database."
My options in Excel are shown in the attached file. It seems that in prior releases that in the Tools menu there was NX Manager that had the Toolbox applet(?). Thanks again

The picture you attached was the Tools - Spreadsheet function of NX. You need to goto Tools - Part Families... its at the bottom of that pull down menu (or use the command finder function) BTW i covered a great part of this in a previous post have a look at [

Good post Michael. Creating the members is fairly easy as you show quite clearly. My trouble is that I want to change the content of each member of the family after the family is saved. Our system setup does not allow me to edit the members outside the family structure, and my inability to find the aforementioned "Toolbox" prohibits editing them inside of the family.

You can't change the members outside the family table, and it has nothing to do with system setup. The members are, once created - Read Only and are only modifiable within the template part (=orginal part), where the spreadsheet is. In the attached screenshot you see the part family menu, and as you will see the Edit button is unblanked this will only happen after you created the members for the first time. So the first time you use the Create button and when you want to modify the members you use the Edit button. As mentioned in prev. post you can select the whole table or just row by row for updating the members (in the same Add . Hope this clear out your problem.
