NX6... Trim curve to solid edge internal errors?

Every so often I get in a hurry and accidentally select the edge of a component body to trim a curve. NX6 does not like this at times and will error followed by Undo Successful (if you're lucky). Much safer to trim curves to curves. That said, in later versions can one safely trim curves to component edges? And no, my employer is not on maintenance at this time (sic).

We'd have to see an explict example, one that could be tested first in NX 6.0 (where the problem is seen) and then try it again in a later version to see if the problem had been addressed.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
 
If I remember things correctly, this was a bug in a specific release of NX6.x.x and that a later NX6 patch fixed.
So , yes, you should be able use an edge to trim to.
