Are you sure it's from Siemens?Did anyone else notice CATIA in the right upper corner?
 
When I go back and re-watch the video, I see that the first models have "JT Data" in the upper-right corner. When I saw "CATIA", I thought that it said "CATIA Data" identifying this model as originally coming from CATIA, but you can still use the NX tools to modify the models.

Just my $0.02.

Looks nothing like NX6 to me. Probably a recording of a CATIA v6 demo.

But I was warned from Dora Smith (Siemens PLM software) that this is internal company demo.
The video you just posted was an internal company teaser video shown at a sales training conference. I need you to remove it until the technology is announced publicly the end of April.

Are you saying that Dora Smith included that bit of information in her message to you? If not, I would suggest that you avoid speculating as to exactly which Siemens PLM product was being shown in that video clip. April will be here soon enough.

Who said it had nothing to do with NX? My suggestion was to NOT make any assumptions about which product it might or might not be. However, you can be assured that it IS a product from Siemens PLM.

I don't know that anyone actually said it wasn't NX, even if it is a bit previous to what may or may not be released in April or some later stage. It seems to gain credibility based on what may be an error on the part of the Bulgarian arm of PLMS.

Now the issue that I have is that there is little about what is shown that does not seem like it represents advancement over current product capability. In other words the sort of things that you would want were you able to think of it without having first had your appetite whetted by this video.

Maybe it is unfair to raise expectations too highly. But maybe it is also a bigger negative not to aspire to get as many of these goodies as possible for upcoming versions, based on the old "Bang for your Buck" criteria.

I think that to aspire is do engage in entirely a different mindset compared with wild speculation on what may be, as opposed to what could be. We could have to wait for NX-7 or longer, but without doubt there are still some good reasons here to believe that CAD can and will continue to get better over time.

While I accept that PLMS have the right to control the release and content of their product, such that maybe we shouldn't be seeing this. I would not want to let the moment pass without saying that what I saw looked very good and more power to them if they're able to deliver. It looks like direct modeling on steroids to me and I love the idea.

When these sorts of things do come up as they occasionally do then I see nothing to be gained in speculating too much or by vehement denials from PLMS. What I do see is some good ideas that once seen rather than being denounced can be acknowledged as such so that whatever the next version is I'm sure that the impetus gained to make real advancements can only be a god thing for maintenance paying customers.

Note that the Bulgarian site is owned by a reseller, and is not under the control of Siemens PLM. Granted, they sell our products and provide training and support to their customers in Bulgaria, but the people who work there are not employees of Siemens PLM Software. At issue is the fact that while we have shown that original video at several company events, some of which may have even been attended by partners and resellers, the understanding has always been that there can be no photos or videos taken during the presentation (not even by OUR people) and the only 'material' that can be taken away from this sort of presentation is what we provide to the attendees.

Come April, when we officially launch this product, there will be all sorts of material available and who knows, some of it may even end up on YouTube, and if it does, it will probably NOT be by accident.

Please accept my spelling correction in the last line of the previous post, the word was meant to be good. Despite all appearances to the contrary I did not in fact mean to elevate PLMS to be God.
