NX7.5.5.4 Threads in Part Family

I am creating a new fastner for example nut. I have created a part family members for each size of nut. Now I want to change thread size for each member (different size for different family member). How to change thread size. I have tried adding thread feature in coloum but only one thread size applies to all members.

I am using inch threads. I tried entering 5/16-24, 3/8-16, 9/16-18 in the part family columns. But it didn't work.
 
did you try "5/16-24" since they are strings? I rememeber having that issue, but forgot how I solved it.
 
Yes. I tried "5/16-24", "3/8-16", "9/16-18". But didn't work.
 
Also you're mixing Course and Fine threads so you will need to account for that as well in your templates spreadsheet file by including a column for the 'Thread Standard'. And yes, all expression String entries in the spreadsheet must must be inside of double quotes as in "5/16-24" or "3/8-16".

It was a typo. I ment "3/8-24".
I did extactly same way you did in your example. Still didn't work. I have attached the part here. If you could see whats wrong.
 
OK, you have to actually have the 'THREAD_SIZE' expression drive the Threaded Hole. Simply go into your model and set p134 equal to THREAD_SIZE. Also there is NO need for the 'NUT_SIZE' expression since the 'THREAD_SIZE' is all that it takes to control which Threaded Hole will be created in each family member. The value of that expression is meaningless and could confuse people as to what it is that is being asked of them. It's best to keep this sort of thing as simple as possible, for all parties invovled.

I wish Siemens should come up with simple way to do this in the next version of UG. Amount of time we invest in such simple things which does not add value to product development does not justify.
 
I'm not sure how much simpler it could be made, particularly for something like the CREATION of a Part Family Master Template which is not something that we would expect a large percentage of our users to be doing. Now USING the Part Family Templates that someone else created, that's a totally different issue. Which brings me to this question, why exactly are you creating a Family Table Template for a simple 'Nut' in the first place? Why are you NOT using the 'Machinery Library' which we offer to our customers free-of-charge?
