Hello,

We use two network drives at my place of employment, one is a common shared drive and the other is a engineering only drive.

Some of our customer parts (3D Models) are stored on the common drive, but our internal assemblies are stored on the engineering drive.
I continually have to change my Assembly Load Options when loading an assembly that contains customer suppplied parts.
Would it be easier and less option changes if these files lived on the engineering drive?

Hope you can help,
Thanks!

You can change the load options to "from search folders" and specify multiple folders (which may be on different drives) to search.

A possibly easier method would be to use the "as saved" load option.

Note that if you use the 'From Search Folders' option, that the folders will be 'searched' in the ORDER that they are listed in Load Options. This means that if the same part file, or more than one part file with the same name, are found in more than one folder in the list, when NX opens your Assembly, the first part file that has the name that is being looked for, when that named part is found, it will be the one that gets loaded.

- And note that you can enter a specification such as
"D:\directory_a\..." where the "..." means search subdirectories.
I.e Do not enter "C:\..." because NX will search the entire disk. ( until it has found the files)

Tomas
