We have a part that has some equations to define a law curve of wireframe geometry. For this example it is a gear tooth. But if I copy and paste this solid body from one part to another I loose all expressions from the orignal part in the part I am adding to.

For this example I have a shaft and I want to put splines on the shaft. So I have the shaft as a revolve and I want to put some splines onto the shaft from our gear template part. What would be the best way of doing this? Copy and paste does not work very well as we loose all of the expressions after the paste into the shaft if done.

Looking for a more robust way of doing this.

Do you get the 'gear' feature including the law curve but without any of the expressions or are you only getting the body and not the curves and thus no expressions?

I get the solid body after I paste without the proper expressions. I think they go bad when I paste. Please see JPG of what I exported out of the prt files. The one on the left is how it should look and the one on the right is how the data looks after I paste the solid body into a existing part.

thanks for the feedback.

If we used import part instead of copy and paste I get what we need. Thanks
