I'm running NX7.5 on a laptop, a work colleague has the exact same laptop. His laptop loads assemblies about 20X faster, are there any settings in NX, that could be causing my laptop to be slow. I have my load options set to partial loading, but it isn't helping anything.

Do you have 'Use Lightweight Representations' toggled ON in Load Option? Is 'Load interpart Data' toggled OFF?

I turned on "use lightweight" this helped immensly, but there is still the issue with my colleagues comuter being so much faster. Is it possible it's a setting within Windows 7?

When you say the systems are the same, do you mean in terms of both the speed and number of processors as well as the amount of RAM? Also check to make sure that you've got the latest certified display driver.

Also make sure that while you say the systems are the same, are they actually running the same applications? For example, are you running some other applications simultaneously with NX that perhaps the other person is not? Are you loading your parts or accessing your license server over the net? If so, are you running wireless while others might be hardwired to the net?

What NX application are you seeing the performance problems with, Modeling, Drafting or simply opening an assembly and manipulating the display of the model?

You can disable the plane translucency to accelerate your laptop.

Go to PREFERENCES>VISUALIZATION PERFORMANCE>GENERAL GRAPHICS and toggled on "Disable plane translucency.
