Hi,

Catia V5 has a feature named Multipad (similar to Extruded feature in NX) that allows Catia users to extrude at once a sketch with multiple profiles (sections).
I do not think that NX has this capability, but I believe that it would be a good enhancement.
I hope John R. Baker would give us his feedback in this topic.

Thanks

You can do what you need to in NX.
You will need to utilize the Selection Filter correctly to select what you want;
single curve, entire sketch, tangent curves, etc

There are several threads on this, just do a search

I am sorry, but NX extruder’s LIMITS cannot be applied separately!
Each profile I select would have THE SAME LIMITS!
That’s way I created this subject!

Here's an attached model.
I suppresed the three extruded which, normally, show the final model that I need to create.
If someone accept this challenge and maybe able to creat only one extrudion using separate limits for each section, would be great!

One extrusion, and seperate limts ? . . . sorry, but no
So why is Catia's way so much better than the way you did it?

Jerry,

I use both Catia and NX for years!
To me, NX is better; it has more design options.
It took me 1-2 years to reach this statement.
In this particular thread, Catia offer a simplified solution, by using (only) one feature, instead of three in NX.
Of course, it is not a big deal to create three separate extrusions in NX..........
My point is to highlight a potential enhancement for NX.
I believe that this kind of debates, in time, would be beneficial for a better NX during.

The nice thing about the people at NX is that they are open to hearing things like this.
You can call the TAC and request an enhancement request, or I think there's a place you can do this on-line too.

I think that "people at NX" are already very content with this forum.
We, day-by-day users meet the challenge more often and more elaborated than a researcher can do!
