NX7.5 Sketch

Is there any way to make the snap to grid work while editing a sketch without having to go into the "Open sketch task enviroment"? It was a great enhancement when NX was improved and it was made possible to have the snap work when moving objects. But the snap to grid doesn't work unless you "Open sketch task enviroment". Very frustrating...

Since no one has replied. I'll assume the answer is no......enhancement request to GTAC I think....

Actually there is something that you can do.

Starting with NX 7.5 we've added the ability to create a Datum Plane Grid which you can find at...

Insert -> Datum/Point -> Datum Plane Grid...

...which will allow you to create a localized 'grid' on the same Datum Plane that your sketch is attached to. Now whenever you're creating a line or an arc, even if you're NOT in the Sketch Task Environment, an additional 'Snap Point' option will appear on the Selection Bar which when toggled ON will allow you to select 'grid points' on this Datum Plane Grid object. This will give you virtually the same functionality that you had when selecting 'Grid' points while working in the Sketch Task Environment.

Anyway, give it a shot and see if this helps when using the 'Direct Sketch' method for creating and editing Sketches.

I tried what you suggested and yes it works for creating new line and arcs...etc. What I want is to move existing geometry that is not constrained, and have it snap to the grid. Such as moving circles around and the centers snap to the grid.

Yes, we're aware of this 'gap' in functionality when it comes to snapping to grid points while moving existing geometry but this is being worked on and may be included as an enhancement in the next version of NX.

how can I discover if is present a Datum Plane Grid on a sketch or on a plane ?
I tried this and after hidden.
Without to use the show and hide command I wasn't able to show.
The problem is to know if is present, imagine the work made by a colleague.
