Hi all,

We (the company I work for) are currently using NX4 and we produce a lot of large assemblies. I've installed NX7 on one machine as I was on the understanding that we may benefit from some of the JT features.

Am I correct in thinking I should be able to add a view and detail it using the JT reference set? I've added a view but I can't seem to turn off hidden edges. It might be that I'm missing something :(

Any help VERY MUCH appreciated.

right mouse button on the view, choose style, choose tab hidden lines, select pull down menu on invisible?

Hi,

I've turned hidden lines to invisible but I can still see them :(

Am I right that I should be able to do this with the JT? Also, is using the Lightweight (FACET) reference set the same as using JT?

Thank you

I've created a jt file and was able to create a view, switching on and off the hidden lines worked for me, so there is something else wrong. Did you tried to update the view?

Or use the Visible layers in view function, CTRL+SHIFT+V and use the reset to global button for the sheet and all the views.

Best regards,

Michäël.

The use of 'lightweight' models is not yet supported for the generation of Drawing views. That is a project that is being worked on but will not be implemented until at least NX 8.0.

Is NX8.0 the next major release or will there be NX7.6, 7.7, etc? :)

Hi,

For some reason I was under the impression that this could be done in NX7.

Oh well that explains the issues I'm having, am I right that lightweight is the same thing as JT?

Thank you!

JT is the technology upon which NX depends for producing lightweight models., be they internal such as lightweight representation when loading and displaying an Assembly, or when exporting a model which can be used in some external application such as TC Visualization or as an exchange format for sharing NX models with 3rd party applications.
