Nx7 Performance on windows 7 64 bit 1

I have a new I7 box with 8 gig of ram and Nividia quadro 1800, running windows 7 64 and ugnx 7 (64). I find it extremely slow even running routine operations. I have benchmarked it against nx7 running on windows 7 32 bit and indeed there is a performance issue. Even the same operations run on nx4 xp are 2 to 3 times quicker.
Any ideas or thoughts?

Are you saying there's a difference between NX 7.0 on Windows 7, 32-bit versus 64-bit? Or NX 7.0 on Windows 7 in general?

Yes, two different machines. The 32 bit one vastly inferior, however running operations quicker. Clearly a problem with the 64 bit machine or version. Just looking for places to look to fix it. (on the64 machine)

This is an important issue. Spending big money on what should be a slam dunk performance gain only to find out its worse?

That could get a dept manager into some trouble.

I'de like to make the move but have been reluctant.

Anyone else out there able to speak to this?

I am running NX 7 x64 on 2 computers with Win7 x64 and have not noticed any slow down from NX 6 x64. I am happy with the speed of NX 7 x64! Even when using the parallel generate things hum along very nicely.
Running on a Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16 GHz with 4 GB Ram.

Just some thoughts.


Are the systems on the same network? Preformance is highly depending on the distance between client and server (when using TC of course).
Or have you placed the license server on the same workstation as where you NX installation is on?
Is your HardDisk almost full?

I´m having same problems

On my machine with XP 64 is NX 7.5 with some operations hugely slower than NX 7 (both are installed). E.g. file opening lasts up to 10-times slower!!! Any ideas? Its becoming disturbingly annoying to work with. I´m thinking to stay with 7 until this is fixed (

The first time a file is opened in a new version, NX has to update its internal structure to the new format. Multiply this effect by the size of your assembly and you can see where long slowdowns can occur. If the file(s) are saved in 7.5 and opening performance is still slow, then it is time to worry.
