We are trying to use Solid bodies to create a cut list. I have read a couple comments/examples on how to accomplish this on this site. So far so good, except when I go into and try to Auto balloon the drawing. The Auto balloon command in NX8.5 displays many balloons instead of the eight balloons I would have wanted. Has anyone else run into this small issue? Please see Pic. Thanks

I just made a sample part and don't see the problem you're getting.
Can you upload the part in the picture?

Please find attached the the Drawing and the Part file. It is a Zip file. I am new to the solid body technique so any other tips and or suggestions you could provide would be great. I am using the reuse library reusable objects.

Ok, I can't explain why you're getting an issue, but I think it's parts list related.

If you have a look at the linked video, if I create a new parts list and set it the way I would (with only 1 key field) then I can get the balloons to work as they should.
The problem then is that you can't have the other 6 items labelled automatically.

If you have the plist variable set to 1, (vimeo video explains what it is and how to set among other things about parts lists), then it is possible to create empty balloons and have the parts list populate them.
However as you can see in the video, I could only get that to work for components, not the solids as you are using.

If I understand correctly, creating empty balloons and having the parts list populate them doesn't seem to be the problem so much as setting the attributes on the bodies, then having the parts list auto-balloon the drawing.
I don't have any solution, as I don't use auto-balloon. I always seem to have a different preference for balloon placement than the software, and place the empty balloons before populating.

For the Multiple Balloon issue I toggled off the reference symbol text from Callout to None. This switch helped with the multiple Balloons. I am still stuggling with item labeling all of the extrusions. Thanks for the help I do appreciate it.

I have a work around which should work for now. I place a balloon on the drawing and point it to a solid body. Then I go to edit that balloon text, and then select to assign an object attribute. Then I set my selection filter to solid body. Then I select solid body that the balloon is pointing to. Then I select the proper attribute. It is not automatic but I get everything to stay associative. Once again Thanks for all of the help.
