[NX8.5] How to apply a mass to a body w/o material definition?

Hello all,

I'm determining the center of mass of a large assembly. Some components are created of many different materials, but are represented by a single body (imported .STP files mostly). Therefore, I want to define a mass to the body rather than set a material parameter.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance

If you have an advanced assemblies license, you can use the weight management functions to 'assert' a weight value to a part.

An alternative (works with or without advanced assemblies license) is to assign a density to the body (Edit -> Feature -> Solid Density). If you want the body to have a certain weight, measure the body first noting the volume, and set the density value accordingly.
