The football helmet model turned out to be popular, somehow I knew it would. There are 19 images posted for voting in the October PhotoWorks Rendering Contest. Agreed - I would have to say Nick Birkett's image is one of the MOST photorealistic renderings I have seen - was it really done in Photoworks??

Any finish other than shiny metal or translucent plastic I have always thought came out poor.
The metallic paint finish and the plastic around the 'Riddell' is just awesome.

Any details on the set-up these guys used and how long it took to crunch the render?

Mine was 100% PhotoWorks and was a ~5 minute rendering.

Nick's image was done in PhotoView 360. My image was done in PW and took about 60-90 minutes to create (set up model, test,revise, wait for rendering to process)
