Offset curves, NX9

Hi Guys,
I just got the opportunity to play with NX9. I was trying to offset some curves in the sketcher but although the curves offset on the screen I get the alert 'offset is not well defined for the given parameters' and don't get the opportunity to apply the offset. I played around with it for a bit but can't get any further - any suggestions on this?

Could you provide either the actual part file or at least a screen shot of your sketch so that we can see what sort of curves it is that you're working with?
