Can EN 13455-3 code be used for design of pressure vessel that will be part of machine temporary placed on offshore platform. Or should it be ASME BPVC Section VIII ?
I am little confused regarding this problematic. Platform is for example in Norwegian continental shelf.

Which code (standard) should piping follow ?

Thank You very much !

Piping Code EN 13480 however ASME B31.3 is also accepted. Basically it should be stated in your Basis of Design Document!! Similarly for permitted Vessel Design Codes.

What if equipment needs to be rented. Is there some global guidence or it is platform owner specific. Thank you for your reply and time.

Usually ASME design codes, both for pressure vessels & piping are well accepted by Norsok Standards. Client's data sheet should specify clearly if ASME or EN needs to be followed. If client's data sheet refers to a specific Norsok standard, one has to look through that.

For example :-M-630 Edition 6, October 2013 refers to the data sheets for piping, with information in clause 2.1: Normative references.

Thanks.

Gentlemen thank You for your time.
But main question here is pressure vessels.
And as I can conclude from discussion Basis of design should be prepared from customer side. Am I correct ?
I have problem to find NORSOK standard related to pressure vessels.
