Oil and water storage tanks Bottom plate Replacement 2

Dear All,

I am working in oilfield. Our company is trying to get some new job and it's very good opportunity and new work for us. We have to replace the bottom plate of oil and water storage tanks. I have done research and had many discussion with few experts whom i know. I am here to get more information about it. We have various size of tanks which starts from 9 meter Dia to 36 meter dia tanks respectively height is from 5 meter to 15 meter. I have found two method for replacing the existing bottom plate which is as follow.
1. Hydraulic Jack Lifter
2. Double Bottom.

From above this two method Hydraulic jack lifter method is expensive and time taking method for this job while Double bottom is less expensive and very less time consuming.
I want to get more details about these two method so, if anyone have any information like Detail Procedure or any kind of reference document then kindly please share with me and also give your ideas about the same so, we can execute this job smoothly.

You may request that this post be moved to the "Storage Tank Engineering" forum for better results, since this is a busy forum and the right people may not see it. Furthermore, you may want to reach out to a company competent in performing such an activity as I'm thinking it's quite specialized. Based on the level of risk involved wouldn't a double bottom be less risky for a company not having experience in either?

I've heard of both methods but don't really have any information short of what can be found in a Google search, which I'm sure you already did.

Just cut the shell 1/2" above the the corner weld, remove and replace the bottom or lay another bottom on top. Or, cut 4" to 6" above the corner weld, lay in a liner and either sand or concrete spacer then new steel on top. Done hundreds of times in all sizes of tanks. Use API 653 a your guide. Posting in the Storage Tank engineering forum wil get you more help...

yes i did search on google and found some good information but i din't found any proper information about Double Bottom method.
