Oil recovery system

Can anyone explain to me the difference between an oil recovery system using an eductor (hot gas driven) vs an oil distiller? I am not really an HVAC guy but involved in a chiller assigment.

Am I right in assuming that the eductor system will boil off any refrigerant in the mixture?

The oil in a chiller will find its way to the condenser and has to be extracted back to the lubrication system. Usually there will be an eductor system to suck back the oil to the oil sump. The eductor works on the ventury principle where hi pressure gas will flow through and create a pressure differential and it does not boil off any refrigerant. Distillation on the other hand does not take place in the chiller. It normally takes place externally where one will remove the complete charge and heat it so as to boil off the refrigerant leaving the oil behind and recondensing the refrigerant back to liquid form. This process is mostly done by a company who specializes in this sort of work.
 
Thanks imok2 for explaining the issue in a simple way, Does the same principle is used in the hermetic certrifugal chillers to avoid oil transfer between the hermetic motor section and the compressor section. Can anybody else comment as well....
