Oil Temperature Data

I would like to know the extent to which different factors affect oil temperature for a typical gasoline engine, including ambient temperature, RPM, and engine load.

Does anybody know of papers or studies that quantify this?

Since he's Electrical, I doubt it's an exam question. Since he's asking for quantified data, I would say it's not so simple (or unreasonable) a question. But the data would be highly specific to an engine type and to the vehicle it's installed in, among other things.
