Old concrete still good, but the New Panama Canal Concrete Locks are Failing.

No details available from this site, but it shows considerable leaks through the horizontally-cracking new steps in the new Panama Canal lock concrete.

Steel lock gates appear to be in place, the water is washing through the horizontal step below the bottom of the gate. Core sample - if properly cut from comparable concrete, makes it look like compaction problems - the concrete is not rammed in any deeper than 3-4 inches of the 10 (?) core sample.
