I need help locating (hopefully free download on-line) specifications for old steel beams, columns and girders- such as a 20B59. I have structural drawings but no details for a 1920's building in Brooklyn, NYC. [It is the St. George Hotel (some of you probably went to a wedding or other event there years ago)]. Thanks

Try AISC's Design Guide 15. It has a list of old sections as well as other specifications. It's a free download if you are an AISC member.

Unclesyd - I saw this thread before. Thanks for the response.

ajh1 - I went to the AISC website - Design Guide 15 should do the trick, (but it will either set me back $60 for the publication or $135 to join). Thanks a lot for your quick an helpful response!

I have an old copy of Milo Ketchum's Structural Engineers' Handbook (1924). If you're after some specific information I may be able to help you out by scanning some pages and emailing to you.

There is an old out of print publication called "AISC Iron and Steel Beams 18??-192?" Im not sure what the years were. Most Engineering offices that have been around a while should have a copy of this. I think most if not all of that info was incorporated into Design Guide 15 but I havent made the switch yet so Im not familiar with it.
