I can't find any information about controlling the location of the old versions folder. For several reasons I would like to dump all oldversions into a single folder. We constantly create new folders and sub folders for projects and at the same time constantly create oldversion folders.

I want the security of old versions but not all the folders. Can you tell invetor while working in project x to direct all back ups to location x?

You can't and..you do not want a single old version location.. You run a risk of possibly overwriting files because of duplicate names.

Old versions folders are created automatically not sure why you feel you need this..

We currently have 65 gigs of parts and prints 13.7 gigs of that is old versions.

We have a second location that cannot remote access our server so we are looking at a cloud style folder syncing. This would allow the other factory to see files but have no ability to delete or change any of our files.

I would like to be able to keep the old versions out of the automatic back up as well as not give anyone access to old versions simply cause its not needed.

I don't want to have to tell out back up software and transfer software not to take these folders as we are always creating new ones.

If i could isolate a single folder to ignore we could eliminate a lot of storage required and reduce costs.

There are various programs that basically hack file locations for programs that limit you control of save locations. Anyone have experience with this?

You also have the option of turning off old versions all together..
Simply set the option to 0 in your project file settings under options..

If you already backup you might find that keeping old versions isn't necessary at all..

You can purge through windows explorer to remove old versions if they are getting to large, Check out RMB Purge.

But if you don't need them do as mcgyvr says and turn them off.
