Please can anyone help me decipher what this error is and how I can overcome it? I'm using NX6 and all i'm trying to do is delete a component from an assembly. I don't know why but for some reason I now cannot delete a specific component and I recieve this error message:

Error recovery completed for the following error:
An operation was attempted on an invalid or unsuitable om object...

Cheers.

A part cleanup would be a good start.

There are a couple of PRs on GTAC relating to this issue, I think you need to speak to them.

If a part clean-up doesn't work try tricking the system into co-operating by opening the assembly structure without the components and then deleting it. Otherwise do some checking that it isn't being referenced anywhere for linked geometry of some such thing. Nine times out of ten if you persist you'll find a way around the problem.

Could also be an assembly attribute tied to the componemt.

I hit submit too fast.
Could also be that the component is used in a reference set at the assembly level. Remove components from a reference set BEFORE deleting them from the structure.

Another one, now that you reminded me looslib, is compnent arrays that need to be deleted before the components are removed.

Thanks for all the help.....still no luck though! The assy was originally constructed in nx3 and then converted so this may be the reason...may just recreate the assy.

Cheers

What's the EXACT release level of NX 6.0 which you are running? If you are still on the initial install, NX 6.0.0.24, get upgraded to at least NX 6.0.2.8 ASAP.

If you are on the initial nx6 then the behavior of the commmands thru the icons is different then from the menu. With the menu every thing works as expected.
