Dear colleagues,
I am working on a project that requires me to have a general overview on the structural building codes governing in the Sulatanate of Oman . This includes codes regarding the design of reingorced concrete structures, steel structures and of course seismic design code and regulations regarding loads imposed on structures.
I am a structural engineer that is working with an architectural firm and am required to give an opinion on the conceptual design from engineering point of view. Since the project is in an early phase we have not yet been provided with contacts with the local design team, therefore I have no local peer to request this information from.
I will highly appreciate pointers to codes (I doubt there will be downloadable versions but it will be wonderful if there are) like the name of the code and the year it was established.
Or if some foreign codes are allowed to be used in design parallel to the local codes - that will be great inforamtion too.
Many thanks and I wish you a productive week!
Mike
