OPC sample code for PLC read/write?

Does anyone have VB sample code on how to use OPC instead of DDE. Please refer to the following forum topic "VB app using RSLinx on a different drive" for a sample of how I am doing DDE.

Look up the tech note A7374 on

in the knowledgebase. It gives a visual basic example that is very good and has a link to the OPC Founation where you can download the OPC Specifications. Also look up the keyword OPC and you will get more information.

has an activeX control that makes OPC-DA simple. I recently downloaded the demo and it made my life so much easier that I will purchase the license.
