Does any one have experience with the open cell steel sheetpiles with Soldier piles and anchors? I attached a figure that shows the problem. My main questions:
1-What is the min/max required radius to develop the hoop stresses/tensions in the sheetpiles? for example, if we have a straight line, hoop stresses can not be assumed.
2-What is the min/max required height of the wall to develop the hoop stresses/tensions in the sheetpiles?
3-Do you know of any design example/manual that explains the design procedure in details for this particular problem. I know that there are many cellular cofferdam publications but none shows an example or a design guide for such structures.
Thanks.

Contact LB Foster. They have developed the open cell concept and promote it. I have read a little about it but do not have any experience with it. My understanding is that flat sheets are driven prependicular to the face in liue of the tie backs you show and the friction develops the anchorage. But L.B. Foster are really the guys to talk to. They also have a lot of information on it on their website.
