Well, I am tapping out on my search. I could have sworn I was provided/seen/read/dreamt a diagram that gave the maximum skew allowed for an open web steel joist to bear on a beam. For example, once it is off more than 30 degrees, they suggest adding girder-type members to ensure your skew is not greater than XX degrees. Am I imagining I saw this at one point in my career? If not crazy, do you know where I can locate the information? I may have overlooked it, but I have not been able to find it. Thank you in advance, and I apologize in advance if it is right in front of my face.

Can you do it with a light beam or channel section instead of an OWSJ?

Thank you for the information. I knew I saw it somewhere, and I guess simple was just too simple. :)

Yes, the structure has a few odd angles, so I planned on doing a lot with beams as needed, but it triggered me looking for that skew limitation of joist.
