Opinions and Suggestions for CMMS Programs 2016

Good morning.

We are currently using a CMMS database which we had custom made by a local contractor. I absolutely love the software, but the contractor is in declining health and getting ready to retire. We are wanting to look at a commercially available CMMS program to handle our maintenance needs.

With our current system we can:

1) Create equipment profiles
2) Create parts profiles and inventory
3) Create reoccurring scheduled maintenance task
4) View current scheduled maintenance task
5) Complete and automatically schedule reoccurring maintenance task
6) Create reactive maintenance task
7) View reactive maintenance task
8) Complete reactive maintenance task
9) Deduct parts from inventory for maintenance task
10) View history of all completed maintenances by equipment
11) Attach manuals, photos, etc to equipment and parts profiles

We have looked at a module add on for our Chempax inventory program and I was not terribly impressed.

I'd prefer not to use anything which involves the letters SAP.

While searching through older post on the site, one comment that really resonated with me was (paraphrasing)"Alot of companies have add on's but very few do this full time". Unfornately I didn't see many post that were within 5 years.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a software which has worked really well for you from a company that specializes in CMMS?

At a previous employer we used 'Q4' by Engica. By my recollection it was reasonably good, although I wasn't a heavy user. The rival at the time was Maximo, reportedly more powerful than the contemporary Q4 although plenty time has passed for that gap to close or reverse. Maximo is currently in IBM's ownership.

I agree - SAP is an abomination, its user interface is a user-hostile throwback to the computing of 25 years ago.
