Ordering boiler tubes 3

I am trying to order spare tubes for our 50 years old boiler the tubes are 2.5" and are between steam and the water drum (It is a water tube boiler ) My question is regarding the length of the tubes are the tubes ordered as straight length and then modified at site to have the required bends ? or we can order tubes customized with bends specified on the tubes ? in our case the length between steam drum and water drum is around 7 m and tubes will need to have a bend radius of 410 mm at two location in between .

Normally tube suppliers do not have facility for tube fabrication at shop. So first you need to order straight tubes probably in 12 m length (if available) and give these to a pipe/tube fabricator with boiler fabrication drawings. Alternatively if you have all required facilities at site, you can also fabricate at site. But keeping in mind lot of Indian Boiler Regulations to be followed, it is better to subcontract the complete work to a reputed boiler contractor.

Thanks Goutam_Freelance do the tubes come in standanrd lengths like pipes ? my tube specification is A178 .

I find tubes are available in custom sizes also. You can also discuss with suppliers regarding bending. Some suppliers may be able to provide for this.

There are specialty boiler tube distributors that also bend the tubes and may even fabricate entier panels.

Bank tubes can be procured from many suppliers but it is always the best to ask the original manufacturer of the boiler for the spares. They can sometimes do the replacement at site also, so bending issues become irrelevant.
