ordinate dimensions???

can some one tell me how to change the style of the cumulated dimensions to look like the standard ordinate dimensions. iether that of tell me how to just create standard ordinate dimensions?

i have been trying for days to get it and from what i can tell it is a setting that is locked for me, the user, and can only be controlled by the admin guys.....

if you are wondering what i mean then here is an example..

Ordinate

-------------- 0.0000



cumulative

------------+- 0.0000
|
|
|

i need to remove the dimension line and leave the extension line so as to have a normal ordinate dimension... can any one help PLEASE

Ordinate dimensions must be established through the standard. You will have to polish up on using the admin mode, and the parameters which control ordinate style dimensions. (suppression of leaders, and text orientation)]

The actual function is called "cumulated" dimensions.

thank you solid7. that is exactly my problem..i have never had formal training of any kind i was given a book from my employer and told "learn it", i think i have doen fairly well to be honest but, i have little to no knowledge of how to change those setting and would greatly appreciate it if some one could point me in the right direction as i have need of it now for a print htat is due on my latest design.

please if any body could guide me through the steps or point me to some where that i could look them up i would greatly appreciate it. i would be happy to purchase a book on it but being as my company is currently going threw a bankruptcy, i don't think my book will be something they will get me....

sorry if i am asking a lot of a forum post but this is my only option at the moment and i am also sorry for the extreamly long post
