I have had several users ask me how to move the origin point. I always tell them you can't, just create the part with the origin on the bottom/center. But I'm curious, is there a way to move the origin in a part/assy or has someone come up with a macro to do this? We are using SW03.
thank you

Arlin: Yeah.... you're right. I tried it myself. Did it with a simple test part of a rect. block with a cyl boss. Final result was part with a surface body!!!!!! No wonder a lot of our imported aircraft structure models have lots of surface bodies. Good job they are mostly just used for clearance. I will have to have a serious chat with some folks..........

3/4 of all the Spam produced goes to Hawaii - shame that's not true of SPAM also.......

Hey everyone, I think this is the right thread to post this. Just a small question: I have a part with a default and a user made coordinate system. When I drag it under the origin in the assembly file I want the user made origin coincide with assembly one.Is this possible? I appreciate any help in advance.

When they came they had books and we had land. After a while we had books and they ruled our lands.

You will have to constrain a sketch point in the part. Then make that point and the origin coincident in the assembly

FYI - You should have posted this a new thread.
