Outdoor switchyard dimensioning

I need to define clearances and roadway/walkway dimensions in a few 230 kV (1050 BIL) and 115 kV (550 BIL) outdoor substations. Can anybody help me with basic dimensions or direct me to a source on the web (other than the RUS)?

In ANSI regions, clearances to exposed energized components are described in the National Electrical Safety Code distributed though ieee.org. Some regions have localized standards, like California’s General Order 95, published by the Public Utilities Commission of the State Of California.

NESC is correct. Not sure if you will find it on the web unless you pay a subscription fee somewhere.

NEMA is a little more conservative than NESC, and the price is much better.

Note that unlike outside the fence, only trained people should be inside. There is no difference in clearance for road versus walkway. You are expected to know if your rig will violate minimum approach.
