I am investigating whether a wood roof structure can support an outrigger scaffold setup. The weight on the steel scaffold is approximately 1300# (Mostly on the Back) to counterweight the platform that hangs over the building. This results in 600# point loads on the 2 rear scaffold legs (Assume 100# goes to the front legs).
A raised 2x4 @ 48” O.C. roof structure sits 2’ above the main roof and appears to be insufficient to handle this load condition. Although this is hard to picture I guess, my question is…
Has anybody run into something like this or
Does anybody have any references that might help (Scaffold engineering)?
Thanks for your help
