Hello everyone,
I am working on a calculation for a vessel with two saddle supports welded to it. When looking at the drawing as well as the physical vessel it appears that the saddle supports have been welded over the Category A head to shell weld, making these welds overlap. I needed some insight as to whether or not this is permissible. And if there is an article that pertains to it not being permissible by ASME BPVC Section VIII Div 1?
The joint efficiency for the welds of this vessel are that of 1.00 since the vessel is fully radiographed for lethal service.
I'd appreciate your insight/ experience on the subject.
Thank you,
Emily
