Reading previous posts and from experience it seems that the settings you have saved in your drawing template .prt file override what settings you may have in customer defaults. In NX 6, Is there anyway to force the customer defaults to override the template settings?. Or is it possible to have enviornment variables override the template settings?
Bigger picture. We have a couple of different groups in the business and we share common drawing template files. Is there a way to set up something for Group A so that dual dimensions are on, but for Group B they are off?

I'm not aware of any option which will force the system, without user intervention, to override the drafting standard used when the drawing template was developed. However, once a drawing file is open, you can go into...

Preferences -> Drafting -> General

...in the section of the dialog labeled 'Drawing Settings' you can ask that the system use the current Standard as opposed to what was saved in the Drawing Template.

In the customer preferences check...

Drafting -> General -> Drawing (tab)

There is an option to use the template file settings or the customer default preferences. I believe the default is to use the template settings, but if the setting was changed by an administrator, it could potentially override the template settings without user intervention.

Reply to the last question about different groups desiring different settings, depending on if Cowskis option works on the settings you want, you can use the variable UGII_GROUP_DIR on the computers belonging to that group, and in the corresponding directory place customer default files with different settings.
