Hi there!

I am having trouble in identifying the meaning of a given symbol in a P&ID.
An image of the symbol is here.

Would anyone help me to identify it?

Thanks!

An example of where it is used would help, but looks like a change in specification or material or design code?

It is used in a Oil and Gas P&ID (a refinery).

I mean a snapshot of an example P&ID where this symbol is applied.

But can't you find the legend sheet?

I think that this symbol can be used for several things. Start by checking your legend.

However, spec break, spool break, package boundary comes to mind.

I saw this symbols generally used as battery limit (in terms of engineering and/or supply) of packages, skid etc. Generally on the black side is indicated what included in the supply and on the white side what excluded.
