I'm new to the eng-tips world but was hoping that I could obtain a reliable and recent cost estimate for a sewer pump station or a suggested resource:

SPECS:
Duplex system
Total Dynamic Head > 90'
Flow 1000 gallons/minute
Concete Wet Well

MATERIALS PRICES ONLY

Thanks!

adamp003,
Wow ... so many variables in making an "opinion of probable cost." Your location matters. Your equipment supplier for the package lift station should be able to provide materials costs and likely direct you to a contractor or two. You could use Means. Is the wet well cast-in-place or precast? Precast materials could be obtained from local supplier. A local structural engineer would be able to provide cast-in-place concrete costs (elevated slabs cost more than walls that cost more that slabs -on-grade). Don't forget to include electrical and control costs. Package equipment supplier should be the one to supply duplex controls, level sensors, floats, but wouldn't necessarily provide some of the ancillary items (remote communications-radio transceivers/towers, telemetry equipment, telephone lines, emergency dialers, emergency generators, etc.) Also might have to pay for local power company to run electric lines to you and provide /set transformers.

I am/was aware of the many unknowns in my request but was hoping for a "sewer package" price only. I have been able to obtain some estimates from suppliers ranging from $15k to $20k. You think it's in the ballpark? Thanks for the help.

adamp003,
The equipment estimate sounds somewhat low to me, also ... even for a very basic system; you've got a rather wide relative cost spread. As long as you list out all of the components and know the quality you're after, you should be OK (a third quote would be nice). Be sure you're clear about what you're providing a cost for and include or exclude other items that you know are required for the "complete" installation.

USD 20k for a 1.5 MGD lift station??? Sounds very low.
