Hi,
What "Packaging" in NX means among other related tasks like: Vehicle Integration, Typical Section, Criteria Assessment?

Thanks

Please, read the following:

"Component Design experience with component / system packaging background"

Could somebody tell me what this sentence implies?

These are terms used in automotive engineering disciplines such as body design. For example, a 'typical section' could be a cross-section showing the relationship between the sheet metal of a door ring, a rubber seal and say the B-pillar of an automotive body frame.

Great, thanks a lot Mr. Baker!

Same thing for the term "packaging, too?
I know that one of my last NX assignments was to convert an assembly with 40 components into a single part, with 40 bodies(not linked bodies).
My supervisor asked me to do that; he called this conversion "packaging"........???/!!!!
What should I understand about this last statement?
Why should we convert an assembly into a single part?

This could include converting a complex assembly, like an engine, into a sort of 'armature' which could used then be to do engine compartment clearance and accessibility studies. Or a 'packaging' study might cover something like the ability to remove say the radiator from an engine compartment. Here's a video showing how we can use one of the tools available with NX designed to do this 'extraction path' calculation automatically:

Thanks again, I couldn't go to bed before to get your answer!

Packaging in the automotive context is essentially understanding where all the components will be located in the vehicle relative to the occupant and exterior constraints

If the question is relevant to multiple forums and you want to get a wider audience, the suggested method is to post the question in the most relevant forum, then post the same question in the other forum(s) with a note such as: "this question originally posted at {link to original question}, please post your answer there". This helps to keep the discussion in one place.
