Are you trying to protect the production operation or raw material storage, or final product storage???

Is the paint even combustible/ flammable ???

cdafd below is the reference.

What are common examples of the various flammable and combustible liquids classified by NFPA 30?
Class IA - Diethyl Ether, Ethylene Oxide, some light crude oils
Class IB - Motor and Aviation Gasolines, Toluene, Lacquers, Lacquer Thinner
Class IC - Xylene, some paints, some solvent-based cements
Class II - Diesel Fuel, Paint Thinner
Class IIIA - Home Heating Oil
Class IIIB - Cooking Oils, Lubricating Oils, Motor Oil

Owner wants entire facility protected (mixer / production room & storage)

Ok but what chemicals will this plant have, quantitites

How are they going to store finished product, how high, etc

Suggest work with a fire protection engineer

Not sure if you really need a foam system

You need to slow down and provide a better idea of the process. Frankly, your analysis of hazards needs a fire protection engineer to classify and rank the chemistry, quantities, and the unit operations.

This is a internet website. You need a competent engineer to weigh in on this kind of process. I can do it, but eng-tips doesn't allow me to offer a quote and for good reasons.

Good luck.

Dear fayazdin1,
Study NFPA11& NFPA 30 thoroughly you should get your answers;most of them.

However an appropriate fire loads calculation, fire risks survey and protection needs evaluation would require some Fire Protection Engineer's services licencee to carry out such task as indicated by stookeyfpe!
