Painting will exacerbate problems on stainless steel. Aluminum at 600C? For other steel, insulate first and then coat the insulation.

TugboatEng-I have never heard or seen coating over insulation offshore. And the only case I can see coating stainless steel is when its under insulation to take extra measures in preventing CUI.

Used silicone based coating on high temperature turbines. Alternatively consider ceramic coating but they are expensive to apply

* Finding a solution is great * Knowing how to implement it is fantastic * Believing it is the only one and best is naive ?
